Lui Lok
Former Chief Inspector of Hong Kong
The first impression of Hong Kong now is prosperity, development, fast-paced, once brilliant Hong Kong movies, classic Cantonese music. There is also Hong Kong's famous Hong Kong ICAC - Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption. But before the establishment of the ICAC, Hong Kong, a British colony, was behind the glitz and was a gathering place for gambling gambling and a paradise for crime. Among them, Lui Lok, the head of the four Chinese inspectors in Hong Kong, is also a police and gang.
Lui Lok (May 16, 1920-May 13, 2010) was born on May 16, 1920 in Xinnan Village, Lujing Township, Fucheng Town, Haifeng County, Shanwei City, Guangdong Province. Later, the whole family sneaked to Hong Kong. People called Lok Gor, the title of "500 million inspectors." The former chief inspector of the Hong Kong Police Force's Criminal Investigation Department established a set of corruption mechanisms related to the underworld system during his tenure, and later became a wanted criminal in Hong Kong. On May 13, 2010, Lok Gor died of illness in Canada.
In the 1960s, Hong Kong gambling drug lords, Lui Lok, who was the inspector of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, can handle the black and white society in Hong Kong. Known as "Lok Gor", he was a police officer in 1940. In the 1960s, he was co-proclaimed with Yan Xiong, Han Sen and Lan Gang as the "Four Great Chinese Inspectors" in Hong Kong, and colluded with the gang to collect huge bribes. Lui Lok is recognized as the head of the four. The four investigative corruption cases were exposed by the colonial government in the 1960s. Former Governor MacLehose established the Independent Commission Against Corruption in 1974 to curb the growing police corruption. This famous "tiger" action has caused the police to feel guilty and lead to conflicts between police and police. Subsequently, MacLehose issued an amnesty order, and no longer pursued most of the corruption cases before 1977, only to quell the police riots. However, the ICAC has not given up on the four people like Yu Lok. In 1968, due to the prevalence of anti-corruption, Lui Lok decided to “catch back in advance” and retire early at the age of 48. He lived a worry-free life by collecting rent and saving. In 1973, Lui Lok rushed to Canada after the establishment of the ICAC, and eight children and his wife moved to Canada to escape the hunt.
Canada was the country where many former greedy police officers chose to immigrate. According to a report exposed by the Canadian police in 1999, at least 44 former Hong Kong police officers and family members who were traced by the ICAC in the 1970s immigrated to Vancouver and Toronto. The report said that Lui Lok arrived in Vancouver in the mid-1970s and settled in Taiwan after he settled his family.Lui Lok is hard to estimate. Before he left Hong Kong, he even had a net worth of 500 million yuan. According to the data, Lui Lok’s frozen assets in Hong Kong alone have valued nearly 100 million yuan in the 1980s. The assets include eight units in Tsim Sha Tsui and the Mid-Levels and over 8 million yuan in cash.
In the 1960s and 1970s, Yan Xiong, the area around Tsim Sha Tsui and Yau Ma Tei, also belonged to the edge of Kowloon. It concentrated many shanty towns and became the focus of the gangsters. From the Chief Superintendent Gebo to Si Dahua The inspectors are closely related to the region, and Yan Xiong is the boss of this region. Yan Xiong’s last position was the inspector of the Yau Ma Tei Police Station. Hansen had been working in Yau Ma Tei until he was promoted to the inspector of Yau Ma Tei and later transferred to the Mong Kok Police Station as the inspector. It is for this reason that during this period, the ICAC focused its work on this area, especially in Yau Ma Tei.
From the Gerber case to 1976, the Independent Commission Against Corruption was established only two years ago. Within the Hong Kong Police Force, nearly 20 corruption groups were dug up. Several senior police officers were arrested and hundreds of each were arrested. The police officer was arrested or wanted. The largest gang corruption case involved 18 police officers. After the case was broken, it caused great repercussions in the Hong Kong society. At the same time, it also caused great panic within the police force. Those who have retired and retired have been able to escape. It seems that they are lucky enough. However, their pensions have been deprived. They have long been wanted to live in a foreign land. Some of them have escaped from foreign languages and cannot return. I can only live a life without a dark day. More importantly, the ICAC has wanted to freeze their property while they are wanted, even if some people use some property in the field because they are not fully aware of the local laws and are living a scared day.
At that time, Yan Xiong, who was inspected by the police station in Yau Ma Tei, was in a bad situation and fled in advance, but was still wanted by the ICAC on January 24, 1977. At present, Yan Xiong settled in Thailand.
